Vintage Chinese watch portal
From Chinese Watch Wiki
The "vintage" period of Chinese watchmaking began in 1955 with the construction of China's first watch, the WuXing , and had its "hey day" in the 1960s and 1970s. The transition between the vintage and modern periods did not happen quickly at a particular date, but was a gradual process driven by mainly by the quartz revolution and Chinese economic reforms . The gradual ending of the vintage period can be loosely equated to the decline in prevalence of the Chinese Standard Movement or the "Tongji".
