Vintage brands

Vintage Chinese brands tended to be designed and manufactured as complete watches (case, movement, dial and hands) by single factories. The proliferation of factories constructing the Chinese Standard Movement all over the country lead to an abundance of distinct brands, each with their own identity despite all using the same movement.

Modern "real brands"

NB: "real brands" is not the appropriate title for this section, but I honestly don't know the correct term. I am thinking of brands which have a single company/factory behind them who design and manufacture entire watches - as distinct from brands who buy white label parts from many different sources and stick their own label on it. If someone who is more industry-savvy can rename this section and write an introductory sentence or two (as I've done for the vintage section above), that would be awesome.

Modern "not real" brands

NB: "not real brands" is not the appropriate title for this section, but I honestly don't know the correct term. I mean the opposite of the "real brands" above. If someone who is more industry-savvy can rename this section and write an introductory sentence or two, that would be awesome. Feel free to create and link to relevant articles in said introductory sentence if this seems appropriate (or copy across old articles like OEM or Ebauche etc.)
